    So, what exactly is health & well-being coaching and what can it do for you?

    Well, coaching is primarily a relationship between the coach (that’s me) and the client (that’s you), where we work together in a thought provoking, sometimes challenging, and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal development and overall health and well-being. Coaching is a great way to make permanent change in your life because you actually help come up with the solutions and as part of doing this you become the expert.

Health and well-being coaches work with their clients to improve their health, vitality, and well-being by engaging in behaviors that have been proven to improve health and prevent disease including weight loss, fitness, nutrition, stress coping, sleep, mind-body and positive psychology interventions. The outcome of health and well-being coaching is an expanded capacity for healthy and lasting lifestyle change.

Health and well-being coaching is not about a single focus on nutrition, exercise or sleep. It is not about a focus on either mind or body. True health and well-being comes from a focus on every one of these aspects. We will work together to enhance every aspect of your mind and body through nutrition, movement and rest (I prefer these words to the usual diet, exercise and sleep as words can create your world and sometimes these words can have negative meanings).

I use both directive and facilitative coaching techniques to make sure you get the results you are looking for. You will feel empowered to become the health and well-being expert in your own life. This is the best way to make lasting changes. A typical session might involve unpacking the difference between what you know you need to do compared to what you are actually doing, or it might involve agreeing on specific goals relating to nutrition, movement and rest for you to accomplish before our next session.

My responsibility is to help you:

  • Discover, clarify and align with what you want to achieve to move towards a greater level of health and well-being;
  • Encourage your own self-discovery so that you become your own expert advisor;
  • Elicit solutions and strategies generated by you to create lasting change;
  • Hold you responsible and accountable for agreed goals.

All online coaching sessions are conducted over Skype or Zoom and run for 50 minutes. You are expected to be open and honest, and commit to the coaching process. You can have a single session, or as many sessions as you want – although we would review after an agreed period of time to ensure you were still getting the benefits you expect.

In person coaching sessions and gym sessions happen when and where we can be in the same town together.
